Server and Busser Positions

The Barn Dinner Theatre is full of characters, and we’re looking for someone whose character outshines all else.  If you have great work ethic and an award winning attitude, this rare opportunity to join our serving staff could be for you!  We’re looking for 2-3 years of professional experience with customer service and a team-player attitude.  The position comes with some flexibility when it comes to hours, though we are looking for someone available for all days of the week.  As the longest running dinner theatre in America, The Barn has stood the test of time thanks to the courteous and helpful staff who make a night of Dinnertainment one to remember for a lifetime.

••• Server Positions •••

The primary responsibilities of a Server at The Barn:

  • Assist the Manager on Duty during the seating of patrons as they arrive.

  • Assist patrons with the buffet.

  • Take both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink orders.

  • Complete all side work assigned in a timely manner.

  • Provide excellent customer service – stay informed with upcoming shows and bar prices.

  • Learn our bar menu and pricing, and take the bar test before end of training.

  • Know all upcoming main stage shows and concerts.

 

Requirements for Servers:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Have at least 2-3 years professional experience.

  • Looking for open availability for all days of the week.  Tuesday daytime availability required.

••• Busser Positions •••

It is the primary responsibility of a Busser to:

  • Assist Manager on Duty during the seating of patrons as they arrive. 

  • Clear all tables assigned to you in a timely manner. 

  • Complete all side-work assigned to you in a timely manner. 

  • Provide excellent customer service. 

  • Learn our bar menu and pricing; pass the bar test before the end of training.

  • Know all upcoming main stage shows and concerts.

Requirements for Bussers:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.

  • Looking for open availability for all days of the week, Tuesdays especially, but not required.

Experienced Kitchen Staff

Seeking highly dedicated professionals with very strong work ethic to assist in our fast paced kitchen. Speed, efficiency, & accuracy are a must! ServSafe Certification preferred.

Food Prep & Runner:

Seeking an individual to assist in the preparation and replenishing of the items presented on our buffet. Includes (but not limited to): cooking, mixing, preparing ingredients measuring, clean up, and more. Individual will also “run” food back and froth from the kitchen to the buffet to replenish food items during meal service. 

Dishwasher:

Seeking an individual capable of operating a high volume dishwasher. Our venue seats 252 patrons and man dirty dishes come through very quickly.

 

Prep Shifts: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Buffet Shifts: Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and some Sunday

Front of House

The Barn’s front of house team currently has one open position to be filled. This is a part time position, with the possibility of becoming full time for the right candidate. Here at The Barn Dinner Theatre, customer service is our most important concern. Our reservationist and host/hostess often provides patrons with their initial experience at The Barn. All new hires will be required to complete a 60 day trial period to make sure we are a good fit for you, as well as you being a good fit for us.

It is the primary responsibility of a Reservationist to perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to:

  • Sells and processes ticket orders for shows/events utilizing prompt and courteous service to all guests.

  • Provides answers to all guest questions and furnishes detailed information regarding facility and services.

  • Assists guests with modification/cancellation requests to reservations. 

  • Handle cash and other payment methods responsibly and accurately.

  • Resolves guest complaints with a scope of authority, otherwise referring the guest to the Box Office Manager for assistance. 

  • Must be proficient in personal computer skills and ability to learn database programs quickly.

  • Able to work in a hectic fast-paced environment, while maintaining a professional, courteous demeanor. 

  • Performs all other job related duties as requested. 

It is the primary responsibility of a Host/Hostess to perform a variety of  duties including, but not limited to:

  • Greet all patrons with a kind and courteous disposition.

  • Maintain a professional appearance.

  • Assist patrons with entrance / exit of the facility as needed.

  • Check in patrons upon arrival by giving out their seating information and keeping record of who has/has not arrived.

  • Provide answers to all patron questions regrading upcoming event, pricing, etc.

  • Resolve guest complaints with a scope of authority, otherwise referring the guest to the Manager on Duty for the performance.

  • Assist Manger on Duty with seating, or other duties as needed.

  • Ensure that the theatre lobby is kept tidy; restock upcoming performance materials; monitor restroom cleanliness. 

  • Oversee lobby during buffet time and intermission.

  • Organize paperwork for day as necessary. 

Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to access the computer via keyboard.

  • Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts. 

  • Professional appearance and demeanor. 

  • Excellent time management/multi-tasking/organizational skills. 

  • A strong work ethic.

  • Dependable transportation and flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and occasional holidays.
