Rent the Barn

-Can you hold a reservation for us until we call back? No, all reservations are only confirmed with full payment. Group bookings are handled with a non-refundable deposit and balance due date. Contact group sales for details.

-What forms of payment are accepted? Amex, MC, Visa, Discover, Diner’s, cash, printed checks, cows, chickens, first born, merchandise/service exchanges.

-What if we only want to see the show? We do offer “show only” seats. They are only sold on the day of the performance, subject to availability.

-Are the tickets mailed or do we pick them up there? For dinner theatre, we do not print actual tickets like a movie theatre would. You simply arrive, check in at the front desk, and are given a card with your table assignment on it. Present this at the entrance to the theatre and our staff will seat you.

-What if we forgot the date and miss our reservation?

See cancellation policy.

-How can I purchase a Gift Certificate? You may call us and purchase over the phone, and they will be mailed to you or your gift recipient. You may also purchase them at the theatre, or from the ticketing page of the website here (Basic GC only). Please advise the staff if you would like to add bar or gourmet dessert charges to the GC, as well as whether or not you would like to include gratuity.

-Can we bring our baby/How much is a child’s ticket? As a courtesy to our other patrons, children under 5 are not recommended in the dinner theatre unless attending a children’s show such as Playtime At The Barn.

*** If you bring a child of any age, they must have a reserved seat to conform to N.C. Occupancy Laws and Fire Codes. This also means they must have a theatre chair designated for them. We do not provide booster seats or high chairs as children young enough to need them very rarely attend.
i.e. - We are not permitted to have 4 adults and one child sit at a table with 4 seats, regardless of the child’s age. For our main stage shows, children 12 & under are half the regular ticket price. 2 & under are free but again, they must have a reserved seat.

-We want to be sure the server is properly compensated, is gratuity included in the ticket price? The regular ticket prices DO NOT include gratuity, and we always appreciate this question for our hard working staff. Groups of 20+ or more and certain gift certificates will include gratuity automatically. Groups of 8 or more will be asked to include gratuity during the reservation. You may voluntarily add gratuity to any ticket or gift certificate during the reservation booking.

-What is the dress code? We encourage our guests to “Dress to Impress”. We ask for no shorts, sneakers, or t-shirts in the theatre for main stage productions. Business Casual is a good basis.

For children’s theatre events, dress comfortably-no dress code.

-Is buffet vegetarian friendly? Yes, we offer several vegetables, salad, & pasta dishes which are free of meat products.

-Is the theatre handicap/special needs accessible? Yes. It is imperative that patrons please advise during the reservation call of any special needs so that appropriate table selection and staff notification will take place. Also please advise the hostess or manager upon your arrival. The theatre offers an entrance ramp for wheelchairs, just ask hostess for it while checking in, it is portable and will be placed at the entrance as needed. Also we offer special tables by the entrances to accommodate wheelchairs. The buffet is on the main theatre floor, six steps down, with no wheelchair access. Please inform a staff member if assistance is needed with the buffet, they will assist as soon as they are free to do so. The restrooms are equipped with chair accessible stalls and handrails.

-Does the theatre have a bar? Yes, the theatre has All ABC Permits. We have a service bar, this means it is for the servers only. They will serve your drinks to you at the table. From a cold beer to your favorite mixed drink to our house favorite frozen drinks, we will bring what you enjoy. Bar tabs are paid at the table.

-Is is OK to bring our own alcohol or birthday cake? Although “brown bagging” of liquor is not permitted, you may bring a bottle of wine and simply pay the traditional $10 corking fee applied by most restaurants. You may also bring cakes, please let the hostess know upon check in and they will have the staff hold the cake until you ask for it at the table.

-Are the cast members from traveling troupes? No, The Barn Dinner Theatre produces & cast all shows in house. Auditions are always open & posted on this website. Just like Hollywood, we’re always interested in fresh faces, talented performers & musicians, so come out and show us what you’ve got!

-When should we arrive for our reservation? You may not enter the main theatre prior to the scheduled opening time for that day. Since all seating is reserved, arriving prior to open simply isn’t necessary. The reservationists will recommend an arrival time for you according to your table level in the theatre. We attempt to stagger the seating times between the three levels by 15 minutes to help alleviate the line for the buffet. The buffet is typically available for 1-1.5 hours, so many regulars arrive up to 30 minutes after scheduled opening time to avoid the initial crowd.

-Groups of 20 or more are recommended to not arrive until scheduled opening or later. Our lobby is a reception area and cannot accommodate large groups prior to open. If your bus arrives early, it is recommended that your group remains comfortably seated on the bus until the theatre opens.

-Can we take pictures in the theatre? Yes pictures are permitted inside the theatre. However, due to strict copyright laws and general courtesy to the actors, taking pictures during the show is not permitted under any circumstance, with or without a flash. You may request pictures with the actors after the show through your server during the intermission. The decision to pose will be the sole discretion of the actor.

-How long will we be there? Plan on 4 hours for a main stage production. The buffet is typically available between 1 to 1.5 hours, then 20 minutes to changeover the theatre, then the show is 1.5-2 hours.

-Can we rent the theatre? YES, regularly, and year round! Click here for
details on renting the theatre.

-We are interested in selling fundraiser tickets/hosting a fundraiser event/hosting a charity event, what are our options? Click here for details on fundraising or charity events.
